Two Great Weekends, Two Great Events
Member Appreciation Lunch at Flotilla
Saturday 23 May proved a perfect day for a cookout honoring our terrific members. Some of the 40 in attendance came by boat, some came by car; there were early arrivers and late comers; but everyone had a great time! Many thanks to our cooks, P/C Lee Ayers on the fryer and Cdr Braxton Sorg and Lt/C Bryant Blakeslee on the grill. Many other hands helped with the sides and cleanup. Check out the photos below to see what you missed out on! Click the first thumbnail to open the slide show.
Log Jam at No Name
What a wonderful day for the Log Jam at No Name Cove. The weather could not have been better on 30 May and, given the number of folks who played in the water all day, most thought the lake temperature was just right!
If you weren't there you missed an excellent opportunity to enjoy Lake Murray at its finest. Although a number of boats "unofficially" rafted up (our photographer counted over 40), our official count was 32 boats, 15 of which were member boats, along with 36 enthusiastic members among the more than 97 participants. Click the photos to see the memories we made at this season's first log jam! Remember, the summer's last log jam is scheduled for Saturday 8 August so mark your calendar and be sure to join the fun with whatever boat you have at hand -- as you can see below, we had kayaks, personal water craft, bow riders, pontoons, center consoles, and cruisers of all sizes enjoy this year's first log jam.
