America's Boating Channel™ to Air Videos
Featuring Lake Murray Members
The
U.S. Coast Guard has approved two America’s Boating Channel™ videos – “Why
Wearing a Life Jacket Is Cool” and “Boating with Small Children” – both of which
exclusively feature members of America’s Boating Club of Lake Murray.
You can access and share the streaming versions of these videos now at:
“WHY WEARING A LIFE JACKET IS COOL”
premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday 1 June 2023.

In
addition to this video, 34 members will appear in other boating safety videos
that will air throughout Season Seven of America's Boating Channel. Another 12
members and friends provided production support. America’s Boating Channel
Project Manager Marty Lafferty and his wife, Sari, spent 21-26 April with
members of America’s Boating Club of Lake Murray to video “Why Wearing a Life
Jacket Is Cool” and "Boating
with
Small Children." ABC Lake Murray organized the venues, boats, and on-camera
talent for all roles, making both exclusive ABC Lake Murray videos.
The
nationwide premiere of
“BOATING WITH SMALL
CHILDREN”
will take place later this summer on America's Boating Channel on YouTube, its
Smart TV service and multiple social media platforms.

The
photo on the right was taken on Saturday 22 April during Lake Murray’s Blessing
of the Fleet, which also was videotaped. Shown are Marty Lafferty (center) with
The Rev. Brooklyn Smith and ABC Lake Murray Chaplain Mike Charles.
Below
are other photos captured throughout the week on location at Flotilla Island,
the home dock of members who live lakeside, and concluding with a cast party at
the Social Grill in Ballentine. Footage also was recorded of Lake
Murray's TowBoatUS vessels and ABC Lake Murray members conducting vessel safety
inspections.
