United States Coast Guard
(USCG) has approved "Capacity Compliance" and “Boat Operator
Responsibilities” for public

This is the
fourth and fifth America's Boating Channel
video to feature members of America's Boating Club of Lake Murray. The first
video,
“Trailering
A Boat,”
exclusively featured our members and was released in conjunction with National
Safe Boating Week 21-27 May 2022. Our members then appeared with members of
other clubs in
“Electronic
Visual Distress Signals”
and
"Defensive Boating."
“Capacity Compliance”
covers complying with the capacity plate permanently affixed to the hull on
small vessels. Viewers will learn about how many people can be carried, maximum
total weight, and engine size. Also featured are formulas and tables for
calculating these limits. "Boat Operator Responsibilities" covers
obligations of boat operators for ensuring safety from pre-departure to the
conclusion of every voyage. Viewers will learn operational techniques and boater
courtesy. Also featured are tips for avoiding negligence.
In addition to Lake Murray members, these videos
feature members of the Chattanooga Sail & Power Squadron and Tybee Light Sail &
Power Squadron.
America’s
Boating Channel videos
are enjoying higher viewership levels as Americans have increasingly turned to
boating as a recreational outlet. Screening
boater education videos is an excellent way for boaters to prepare for safer
experiences on the water. Be sure to subscribe and like America's Boating
Channel to receive notice of its latest boating safety videos.
America’s Boating Channel’s sixth
season of videos, which will premiere throughout the 2022 boating season,
includes “Fire
Extinguisher Regulations,” “Trailering A Boat,” “Defensive
Boating,” “Electronic Charts and Virtual ATONS,” Commercial Traffic,” “Life
Jacket Wear,” “Boat Operator Responsibilities,” "Navigating Inlets," “Electronic

Compliance.”
America's Boating Channel is
also accepting input for its new “Inlet
Drone Videos” offering, which will feature narrated aerial video
coverage of high-traffic US waterway entrances.
