On 23 March 2019, we doubled the
number of members attending what has established itself as a new spring
tradition as 60 folks
gathered on the deck of our building at Flotilla Island to enjoy a
Wine & Cheese Tasting,
followed by a dinner of Cdr Fred Ruinen's famous
Spaghetti Bolognese.
Thanks to LMPS Photographer Dr. Joe who snapped photos of the event at which
several awards were presented. Cdr Fred announced that he received the awards
while attending the District 26 Spring Conference in Myrtle Beach. Among the
awards were recognition for the squadron's vessel safety
inspections, various district and national membership growth awards, a life
membership plaque and pin for P/C Mike Kirk, and the D2/6 Order of Mariners
award presented to P/C Charlie Bruce for continuing exceptional service and
achievement by a individual member.
